Staying in control: limits and self-exclusion at 1Red
The last item on any casino checklist is the one about you: can you stop when you want? At 1Red — for adults in eligible countries — the answers are a budget you set, time limits and self-exclusion, with independent help available.
Your own checklist
- Have I set a budget I can afford to lose?
- Have I set a time limit?
- Am I playing for fun, not to win money back?
- Am I calm, sober and not under pressure?
- Will I withdraw winnings rather than replay them?
Self-exclusion at 1Red
Self-exclusion for a set period or permanently is requested by email to [email protected] from your registered address. Full rules: 1Red's Responsible Gaming policy.
Signs of trouble
Look out for sessions that keep running over, stakes raised to recover losses, money borrowed or bills left unpaid, secrecy about how much you play, and restlessness on days without it. Two or more of these are a reason to pause and speak to someone you trust.
Minors
Nobody under eighteen is allowed an account, and 1Red may ask for proof of age whenever it wants. If children use the same computer or phone, keep your login details to yourself and switch on parental controls.
Help outside 1Red
Two organisations with no link to 1Red offer support: Gambling Therapy, which provides free help online at www.gamblingtherapy.org, and Gamblers Anonymous, whose self-help groups are listed at www.gamblersanonymous.org. A doctor is another good first contact.
For family and friends
If someone close to you is struggling, choose a quiet moment, avoid blame, resist clearing their debts and point them towards professional help. See Customer service and Q&A.
